Correcting Corrosion and Hydronic System Problems
Some older radiant heating systems contain non-oxygen-barrier tubing that can allow oxygen diffusion into the circulating water. In systems with susceptible ferrous components, this can contribute to corrosion and iron-oxide contamination that may affect circulator pumps, zone valves, manifolds, expansion tanks, and other components.
If these conditions are present, repeatedly replacing individual failed parts may not address the larger problem. A retrofit provides an opportunity to evaluate the system as a whole and determine which components should be updated.
