Washington State’s Mr. PEX Tubing

If your radiant or hydronic heating system depends on properly selected and installed tubing, Custom Floor Heating LLC provides Mr. PEX tubing installation for residential and commercial properties throughout Washington State, including Seattle, Bellevue, Issaquah & All of Washington State. Family owned and operated since 2001, we bring more than 30 years of hands-on heating experience and UA Local 32 apprenticeship training to radiant floor and hydronic heating projects.

Mr. PEX oxygen-barrier tubing is used in closed-loop hydronic systems to circulate heated water while helping limit oxygen diffusion into the system. Whether you are planning new radiant floor heating or upgrading an existing system, call (206) 335-4600 or complete the contact form to discuss Mr. PEX tubing installation in Seattle, Bellevue, Issaquah & All of Washington State.

Mr. PEX Tubing in Seattle, Bellevue, Issaquah & All of Washington State

PEX tubing is an important part of many radiant floor and hydronic heating systems. Heated water travels through the tubing to distribute warmth throughout designated areas of a property.

Custom Floor Heating LLC works with Mr. PEX oxygen-barrier tubing for residential and commercial hydronic heating applications. Tubing layout, spacing, routing, system temperatures, flow requirements, and connection points are considered as part of the overall heating system rather than treating the tubing as a stand-alone component.

Mr. PEX for Radiant Floor Heating

Radiant floor heating uses a network of tubing installed beneath or within the floor to circulate heated water. As heat transfers through the floor surface, it creates comfortable and even warmth throughout the space.

Custom Floor Heating LLC installs Mr. PEX tubing for new radiant floor systems, renovations, additions, and other appropriate applications. Our experience with complete radiant heating systems allows us to coordinate the tubing with boilers, circulator pumps, manifolds, zoning, and controls.

Visit our Radiant Floor Heating page for more information about complete radiant heating systems.

Why Oxygen-Barrier PEX Matters

Oxygen-barrier tubing is designed to limit the amount of oxygen that can diffuse through the tubing and enter the circulating water in a closed-loop hydronic system. This is particularly important when the system contains susceptible ferrous components.

Continued oxygen exposure can contribute to corrosion and iron-oxide contamination within a hydronic system. Over time, that contamination may affect circulator pumps, zone valves, manifolds, expansion tanks, boilers, and other components.

Using properly selected oxygen-barrier tubing helps protect the components that make up the complete heating system.

Problems With Older Non-Oxygen-Barrier Tubing

Some older radiant heating systems were installed with tubing that does not incorporate an oxygen barrier. If oxygen diffusion contributes to corrosion within one of these systems, property owners may experience recurring problems rather than a single isolated equipment failure.

Signs of a larger hydronic system problem can include repeated circulator pump failures, sticking valves, corrosion, contaminated system water, leaking components, or recurring heating issues.

Custom Floor Heating LLC can evaluate an existing radiant system to determine whether tubing and system condition may be contributing to equipment problems and whether service or a broader retrofit should be considered.

Residential and Commercial PEX Installation

Custom Floor Heating LLC installs Mr. PEX tubing for both residential and commercial radiant and hydronic heating applications. Projects may include new construction, remodeling, radiant heating additions, or upgrades to an existing system.

Because every building and heating application is different, we consider the property, floor construction, heating requirements, system layout, and connected equipment when planning the installation.

Call (206) 335-4600 or complete the contact form to discuss the requirements of your project.

Mr. PEX Tubing and Hydronic System Components

Radiant tubing is only one part of a hydronic system. The boiler must heat the water, circulators must move it through the system, manifolds distribute flow to individual loops, and controls manage the heating zones.

Custom Floor Heating LLC works with all of these components, allowing us to install Mr. PEX tubing as part of a properly planned hydronic system. Our related work includes Boiler Installations, IBC Boiler Installations, Boiler Retrofits, Radiant Floor Heating, and Hydronic Heating.

New Radiant Systems and Heating Upgrades

Mr. PEX oxygen-barrier tubing can be incorporated into new radiant heating systems as well as appropriate remodeling and system-upgrade projects.

For older systems, the project may also involve evaluating existing boilers, pumps, controls, manifolds, or other equipment. If corrosion or recurring component failures are present, Custom Floor Heating LLC can determine whether additional hydronic system work should be considered rather than addressing only one failed component.

Visit our Oxygen Barrier Tubing and Boiler Retrofits pages for more information about these concerns.
